TISCO High Performance Stainless Steel Aids Development of Green Building

In the 11th International Conference on Green and Energy-efficient Building & New Technologies and Products Expo held in Beijing recently, the keynote speech of “Application of high performance stainless steel in green building” delivered by TISCO delegate attracted wide attentions. More than 180 industry players send their delegation to the expo, including Stainless Steel Council of China Special Steel Enterprises Association, and steel producers, institutes, engineering companies from home and abroad. It was the consensus of the delegates that stainless steel of TISCO would aid the development of green buildings and energy-efficient technologies.
Green building refers to a high efficiency structure that is environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building’s life cycle. It offers healthy and comfortable space to people, and keeps harmonious with the environment. The predominant features of material for green building include “energy-friendly process, environment-friendly technology, and recyclability”. With growing awareness of green building and energy conservation in construction industry, stainless steel is gaining the upper hand as a sustainable material. High performance stainless steel produced by TISCO owns all the properties required by green building material: exquisite appearance, long lifetime, corrosion resistance, high strength, good weldability, easy maintenance, cost-efficiency and recyclability. Among all the widely-used green construction materials, duplex stainless steel has become an ideal option for curtain wall and roof. This kind of material is featured with high strength, good corrosion resistance and lower cost in lifecycle. Besides, it is adaptable to extreme conditions and different functions (e.g. antibacterial and fireproof functions). The application of duplex stainless steel rebar produced by TISCO in the grant project of HongKong-ZhuHai-Macao Bridge makes 2013 a year of new breakthrough for duplex stainless steel in construction industry.
In this expo, as the first presence of steel enterprises, TISCO, Bao Steel and Jiangsu Da Ming displayed their products. Most of TISCO’s items on display, including stainless steel color decorative plate, artworks, and etc., are produced in its Stainless Steel Industrial Park. These items drew a lot of attention of people from construction industry.
