TISCO Held Its 2nd Board Meeting in 2015

On July 20, Taiyuan Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. held its second board meeting in 2015. The meeting was presided over by the chairman Li Xiaobo and attended by deputy chairman Gao Xiangming, as well as board members Zhou Yizhou, Zhang Zhifang, Wang Xinping, Hanruiping, Wang Jiguang, Chai Zhiyong, and Han Zhentang. Ren Zhiwu and Zhang Hengyi from Supervisory board, and Peng Cungen, Xie Li, Yang Guilong from top management also attended the meeting as nonvoting delegates.
      
2015 first half work report and second half work plan presented by Mr. Gao Xiangming, the GM of TISCO, were heard in the meeting. Besides, the budget implementation for first half of 2015 was tabled for review, and a 5 year scheme for building a TISCO under rule of law was approved in the meeting.
      
The consensus is that, in the first half of the year when the company was encountered with unprecedented challenges, the management level earnestly insisted in the board solutions, bravely led the company to head the hardship, positively respond to various issues, and guaranteed stable and smooth production and operation.
      
It is pointed out that, despite the fact that the key target figures are hang in the air, a lot of work has been done in the battle for survival, a robust foundation has been set up for forging competitiveness under new normal, and significant progress has been made in various tasks. In the first six months of 2015, product variety and quality are elevated, the company has undergone deeply internal reform, fruitfulness has been seen in cost saving program, significant progress has been made in key projects, industry upgrade has been accelerated, the “rule of law” has opened a new chapter, safety and environment has been better controlled, and new achievements have been made in building a harmonious enterprise. In the second half, the company is to input more effort in the developing and marketing of its fist products, and at the same time to enhance the profitability of its diversified businesses, try more harder to control and eliminate loss, speed up in cost saving program and quality improving program, be more alert to operational risk and pay more attention to team building.
      
It is stressed in the meeting that, the steel industry will continue the hard time austerity and the company will still have to face up a lot of challenges. Under such a background, the management level should be as doughty as iron. The board solution and annual target should be firmly held and urgent conflicts should be resolved immediately. Staff in all departments at all levels should keep unified in thoughts, humble in work and pragmatic in actions, so as to give support to the transformation and upgrade of the company in such a special period. The transformational development should proceed stably with a precondition that the production and operation of the company would run soundly. Regarding the payment system, penalty and rewards rules will be carried out to inspirit the employees to contribute more. Competitiveness will be optimized by washing out outdated capacities and strengthening the diversified businesses. In terms of ideology, the call of “Three Stricts and Three Earnests” will be implemented to eliminate the inaction and irresponsibility phenomenon. Rule of law will be paid more attentions and the awareness of law will be strengthened, firstly among managements, then among all staffs. Those who are in management position should lead the campaign of building TISCO under the rule of law as organizers, propellents and practitioners, and set up rock-firm foundation for the victory of survival battle in depression time and the forming of competitiveness under new normal.
