TISCO stands out as the first producer qualified for special steel for hydro-power application and further processing capability

The recent winning of the bid by TISCO for special steel of hydro-power application that are to be used in a domestic hydro-power project on its power generation plant marks a step forward as a traditional steel producer to be capable of laser cutting and fabricating services. The steel plate for hydro-power application developed by TISCO is supplied for the first time by a steel producer providing final product all through its own producing and processing plant. It consolidates TISCO’s competitiveness and ensures its leading role in the upmarket of application.
Steel for Hydro-power application falls under the category of application-specific steel, the quality standard of which is so strict that quite few producers can cope with, e.g. laser cut plate is accepted only with its unevennes less than 1mm. TISCO, despite the difficulties, came up finally with a success in developing the steel in full satisfaction to technical specifications in August 2015 and applying in an overseas hydro-power project afterwards. This was achieved by TISCO yoke magnetizing steel LHY enforcing standardized melting, rolling and conditioning processes that are practiced exactly on its existing equipment and the employment of internationally advanced fiber optical laser cutting technology as well.
