TISCO recently won the bidding of Brunei Trans-ocean Bridge with its independently developed stainless steel rebar, another success case following the grant project of Hong Kong-Macao-Zhuhai Bridge. The winning of this bidding offers TISCO’s stainless steel rebar an access into international high-end construction industry, as well as recognition from worldwide well-known construction contractors. The first shipment of products is expected to arrive at MUARA port of Brunei ahead of schedule.

Brunei Darussalam Trans-Ocean Bridge spans the Brunei Bay and connects the Brunei and The Darussalam over the water. The bridge, another grant trans-ocean bridge coming to people’s view after Hong Kong-Macao-Zhuhai Bridge, is to be designed and constructed by internationally famous engineering companies and owned by Brunei government. The bridge is of 30km length in total, 23.6m width, and 120m navigation clearance, with continuous steel structure being applied to the main body. The bridge is composed of several spans, including two strayed-cable bridges and two viaducts. Its special structure, which raises extreme requirement to the material, has drawn wide attention of the worldwide construction industry. The stainless steel supplied by TISCO, which will be used in the viaducts both over land and water, has excellent corrosion resistance, high strength and long life time, and meanwhile, it is light and maintenance-free. The hitting of this bidding not only increases the exposure of TISCO brand, but also establishes solid bedrock for the export of TISCO stainless steel rebar.

It is said that TISCO has followed closely the progress of Brunei Bridge project since April of 2014. As soon as the company got information on required stainless steel rebar, it set up a dedicated marketing and R&D team. Based on their experience on material used in Hong Kong-Macao-Zhuhai Bridge, TISCO took no long time to realize new breakthroughs in some key processes and technologies, and prepared itself for the new task. Up to the end of 2014, the stainless steel rebar developed for Brunei Bridge was approved by UK CARES. In the February of this year, TISCO started to promote its products and send material sample to bridge construction contractor, who finally selected TISCO as its supplier among all the others. With its strong R&D power, sound QC system, reliable service level and first-class brand competiveness, TISCO outperformed all the other competitors and pushed the products made in China to the world.
