TISCO Appeal to European Court against EU's Final Decision on Anti-dumping Investigation of Cold Rolled Stainless Steel

By admin UpDate 2015-12-14

The EU Commission imposed anti-dumping duties on August 28th, 2005 concerning imports of cold rolled stainless steel flats products originating in Mainland China . Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Co., Ltd (“TISCO” or “the company”) decided to appeal to the General Court of the EU to seek judicial review.

TISCO, being the largest stainless steel producer in the world, has been highly recognized by customers home and abroad due to its quality of products and services.

On the June 26th, 2014, the EU initiated anti-dumping/anti-subsidy proceedings concerning cold rolled stainless steel flats originating in Mainland China . TISCO promptly coordinated to respond to the investigations. During the course of investigation, the company had duly cooperated with the EU Commission, providing accurate information, documentation, evidence and data; at the same time, and attended 3 times hearings at the Commission to make strong arguments and present evidence to prove that the cold-rolled stainless steel exported by TISCO was neither dumped nor causing injury to EU's industry.

However, it was regretted that the Commission did not accept fully the arguments points put forward by TISCO, and decided to impose the anti-dumping measures on August 28th, 2015 with a 24.4% anti-dumping duty on cold rolled stainless steel products on TISCO.

TISCO considers that the European Commission had took an unfair and not objective practice in the investigation, and the final rulings based on inadequate facts that failed to comply with the provisions of the EU law. Therefore, TISCO has decided to appeal to the General Court of the EU.
