On July 13, the world's authoritative financial magazine "Fortune" (Chinese Version) released "2016 China Top 500", STSS ranked No. 85 by 67.912 billion Yuan in revenue, being the third steelmaker in the list.

 

According to statistics, totally 25 metallurgical and related companies are on the list, 9 less than last year. 3 of the 25, namely Baosteel (No. 34), HBIS (No. 80), STSS (No. 85) are among the first 100 on the list. Among six listed companies of Shanxi Province, STSS is the only one that ranks in Top 100.

 

Total revenues of the top 500 are about 30.77 trillion Yuan, representing an increase of 1.2% than last year; net profit of 2.74 trillion Yuan, with an increase of about 1.5%; both revenue and profit growth show apparent decline compared with last year(5% and 6% respectively). Annual revenue threshold for listed companies this year is 9.608 billion Yuan.

 

In 2015, facing a difficult environment in the steel industry, STSS adhered to market-oriented strategy, continued to deepening reform, guided all its staff to keep a close eye on the market, and improved operating performance; it strengthened market development, further optimized the product structure, and lifted variety and quality competitiveness; it digged the potential of cost reducing and efficiency improving, optimized the structure of raw materials, reduced logistics costs and energy consumption, strictly controlled all kinds of expenses, and made the key technical and economic indicators continue to progress; it constantly optimized production organizing to further enhance the operational efficiency of production; it continuously promoted circular economy of energy conservation and waste emission reduction, became a green development model of China's iron and steel enterprises, scored hard-won results of operations, and kept its market competence on improving.

 

China Top 500 list, published annually by the "Fortune" (Chinese version), is composed of 500 companies with largest operation scale selected from publiclly listed Chinese companies (including listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchange, and companies that are listed in the overseas market, but operated mainly in the mainland), the data based on are the information officially disclosed by the stock exchange.
