160,000 cubic meter industrial waste water treated in TISCO daily

A revamping project on industrial waste water---the key energy-saving and emission-reducing project of TISCO, went into trial operation stage in July. By now, all indexes of the treated water have met and exceed the design standard. It marks a higher level achievement in the recovery of all of its industrial waste water.
 
For years, to realize the utilization ratio of over 98% of recycled industrial water and to be a water-saving company, a lot of waste water treatment projects such as membrane water treatment, deep treatment of reclaimed water, sewage treatment and waste acid recycling were built up in TISCO, along with technical innovation and continuous optimization in product structure. The advanced technologies were adopted to the high-level industrial waste water treatment projects in the whole working procedure including the coke plant, smelting plant and steel rolling plant. With water processing capacity of 130,000 ton/day, TISCO leads the steel industry in terms of industrial waste water treatment and fresh water consumption per ton steel. As the fresh water consumption is deemed as a national water-saving criterion, TISCO is one of the 12 water-saving benchmarking enterprises that are firstly entitled by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China.
 
While the product structure was upgraded again, higher quality of treated water was required. Therefore, TISCO decided to expand the industrial waste water treatment system based on existing equipment. With small investment, low cost, high efficiency, and no more new land,   the existing site and part of the factory facilities were reused. The most advanced technologies in  the world were integrated into the existing recycling process in TISCO, and the whole processing line was in automatic control. Despite of the difficulties occurred during the project construction and the simultaneous operation activities, the construction companies worked out good plans and dispatched good teams to ensure a smooth and well-organized construction work since the project was started in March, 2015. The whole project was completed and put into operation in June, then trial run was started in July.
 
After this project was finished, the industrial waste water treatment was improved to 160,000 cubic meter per day and the recycled water quality was also improved efficiently, the utilization ratio of the industrial waste water was remarkably increased, the electric power consumption and labor expenses were decreased greatly. This project injected new vitalities to the green development of the energy-saving and environment-friendly company.
