A container refers to a vessel for shipping the goods in the sea, land and air transport modes. Container transportation, as a development direction of freight transportation, is of great significance to reduce the logistics cost and improve the efficiency of domestic and international supply chains. According to different uses, containers can be divided into many types. The tank container, or liquid container, is a kind of special container for the transportation of liquid good such as food, medicine, fuel oil, chemicals and so on. its structure is characterized by fixing a liquid tank in a metal frame. Mainly due to a long time maritime transport, plus the strong corrosion property of most of the goods, the tank container’s body is made of stainless steel.

 

The rapid development of container transport leads to the prosperity of the container manufacturing industry, and provides opportunities to material manufacturers. Prior to 2007, China imported tank containers and their manufacturing materials. From 2008 onwards, Chinese manufacturers started the trial of tank container. In the following several years, a number of tank container production lines were set up and put into production in the country, and the demand for stainless steel material was also increasing rapidly. It is understood that, compared with the general modes of transport, tank container can increase 45% of the freight volume, and is fast, safe, environmentally friendly, and neat. To this end, the developed countries has started to push the tank transport as a mandatory substitute for the barrel transport. And as the domestic container transport industry is also vigorously promoting intensive, and environmentally friendly mode of transport, we will see a promising prospect for tank stainless steel material.
