TISCO: Technical innovation to help energy conservation and emission reduction

Over the years, TISCO vigorously promotes the concept of green low-carbon development, and constantly strengthens the conservation awareness, continues to promote energy-saving of individual equipment, process energy-saving and the system overall process energy-saving, all-round promotes energy-saving and emission reduction, and has achieved remarkable results.
 
Accelerating the implementation of technology development and application of secondary energy efficient use is the focus of energy-saving and emission reduction, and also the key to the green transformation and upgrading of iron and steel enterprises. Over the years, supported by technological innovation, TISCO implemented the sintering main fan frequency conversion renovation, blast furnace slag granulation water waste heat recovery, blast furnace hot blast stove oxygen-rich combustion, blast furnace double preheating, converter gas for power generation boilers, and other waste heat recovering application projects, reached significant economic and social benefits. Among them, the implementation of CDQ power generation waste steam waste heat recovery project, annually recycles heat of 896,000 GJ, the effectiveness of 18 million yuan; the implementation of 300MW generating units flue gas waste heat recovery project, recycles recovery of heat 38.6 million GJ annually, the effectiveness of 3.6 million yuan; by the use of low-grade waste heat resources, the implementation of sintering flue gas waste heat utilization, a heating season can recycle 180,000 GJ, the effectiveness of 3.6 million yuan. Blast furnace slag granulation water waste heat recovery technology is a domestic initiative, and is output technically to the domestic steel mills. Relying on continuous tapping energy-saving potential and waste heat resources, TISCO provides more and more green, clean heat to Taiyuan residents in winter heating, makes contributions to improve the quality of urban atmospheric environment.
        
Optimizing the energy structure, implementing the energy utilities replacement, effectively reducing energy costs, is another prominent feature of TISCO energy conservation. To adapt to the new changes in the supply and demand structure of the gas system, in order to make full use of TISCO self-produced coke oven gas, reduce the cost of outsourcing natural gas, stainless steel cold rolling mill, energy and environmental protection department, engineering technology company, energy power plant worked together, through independent design , implementation, and independent commissioning, broke through a series of technical and construction difficulties, successfully implemented stainless steel cold-rolled annealing coke oven gas replacing natural gas transformation project, converted the stainless steel cold rolling mill No. 2 hotline annealing furnace and No. 1, No. 2 cold-line annealing furnace gas system from natural gas to coke oven gas, to achieve the maximum utilization of coke oven gas and energy utilities to optimize the match. Only by this, TISCO increased the economic benefits of more than 40 million yuan, saving natural gas outsourcing costs of 141 million yuan.
 
TISCO adheres to the combination of energy saving, environmental protection and efficiency improvement, implements a number of "small investment, short construction cycle and quick in return " energy-saving projects in its production line, to deepen the process and system energy saving. The implementation of stainless steel wire plant and stainless steel hot rolling mill furnace transformation projects, recycles the flue gas waste heat of the furnace bottom vaporization cooling, improves the heating quality, reduces the furnace energy consumption and operating costs. The use of high-efficiency continuous casting cutting technology to transform carbon steel continuous casting torch, cutting nozzle and ignition device in No.2 steel-making plant, reduces the annual consumption of gas by more than 40%, oxygen consumption by more than 30%, carbon dioxide emissions by more than 90%; the transformation for AOD converter shell heating in the north No.2 steelmaking plant, reduces natural gas and oxygen consumption, cost reduction effect is remarkable. A number of energy-saving projects are being implemented such as AOD dedusting frequency conversion system transformation in stainless steel line in No.1 steel-making plant, blast furnace gas discharging ignition transformation, etc.
 
In the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" and "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, TISCO has outperformed over the provincial and municipal energy-saving targets. At present, TISCO has established a whole process of energy-saving emission reduction model, formed a sound gaseous, liquid, solid waste recycling economy industrial chain. At the same time, TISCO speeds up the transformation from the small cycle in the enterprise to a major cycle of the community, and shares the symbiotic life with the city , becomes an integral part of the city function.
