The 27th IEEE Symposium on Fusion Engineering (SOFE) was held in Shanghai during June 4 to 6. TISCO was invited to participate the conference. World’s top nuclear fusion scientists visited TISCO’s exhibition booth one after another at the conference, where TISCO showed its strength in fusion field to the world.

More than 450 participants, including experts and scholars of fusion engineering research, international organizations and enterprises’ representatives, gathered at the conference and conducted in-depth discussion on latest researches, applications and progress of fusion engineering in the field of nuclear fusion. During the exhibition, the scholars and experts from Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ASIPP) and Magnetic Confinement Fusion Committee of Experts of China came to TISCO’s exhibition booth for visit and communication. Some leading scientists from Plasma physics lab of Princeton University and Idaho national laboratory of the United States also visited the exhibition.

The conference was hosted by IEEE, and co-sponsored by Princeton University and ASIPP.  SOFE is a world’s top symposium on fusion engineering and science of magnetic confinement and inertial confinement, which is held every two years. 27TH SOFE was held in China because of the rapid growth in fusion research and development in the Country. It is for the first time that SOFE moved outside the United States in its 52-year history.

For years, TISCO has developed successfully high-end stainless steel (SS) products for ITER and CFETR, such as extrusion shape, SS plate and clad plate, which can meet quality requirements on SS for fusion engineering and were recognized widely in academic circle and steel industry.  So far, special SS, SS copper clad plate and SS shape extrusions have passed international certification and started batch supply step by step. Participation of SOFE gave TISCO an opportunity to contact directly with fusion engineering and so made TISCO to be known more widely in the field of nuclear fusion.
