China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), the contractor of Chinese section of the China and Russia East Route Gas Project, once again purchased 15,000 tons of X80 pipeline steel from TISCO recently, making the company’s total delivery to 48,000 tons. As the biggest supplier of pipeline steel up to now, the company has given substantial support to the installation of this worldwide biggest on land energy transmission route.

 

The East Route Gas Project is the most pragmatic cooperation between China and Russia, as well as a globally important gas strategy. 38 billion cubic meters natural gas is to be transported via Russia’s “Power of Siberia” to China every year. The Chinese section, going through 9 provinces, starting with Heihe city and ending in Shanghai city, is designed to install a pipeline of 3,170km. The project will help Russia to benefit from its energy resource, improve China’s energy structure, accelerate the economic and social development of both countries, diversify two states’ energy strategies, secure two states’ energy safety, and positively influence the global energy cooperation pattern.

 

The long run gas pipeline, which has the biggest diameter and highest pressure requirement among all pipelines in our country, is made of high grade spiral welded pipes with precedentlessly big diameter and thick wall. Since the year of 2015, TISCO has started active communication with project contractor, pipeline designer and pipe maker on project requirement and progress. It started trial on new material from time to time according to deliberated plan and finally achieve success in developing the correct steel, which passed the appraisal the first time when it was presented to the expert team.

 

Back to this June, when the installation of 70km pilot section from Heihe to Changling was launched, TISCO was no-surprisingly selected for the supply of 25,000 tons X80 pipeline steel. As a strategic supplier of CNPC, a supplier who made outstanding delivery in state project of “Gas Line IV from Shannxi to Beijing ”, a supplier whose product accounts for 43.6% market share, and a supplier who gain wide recognition from customers, TISCO won the bid in the first public tender with no wonder.

 

After many years intensive endeavor on R&D and production, TISCO has grown to be a worldwide biggest supplier for high grade pipeline steel. The company even made itself a pioneer in trial production of the highest grade pipeline steel, the X120, in 2008. Other application cases of TISCO-made pipeline steel includes West-to-East natural gas transmission project, Central Asia-China gas pipeline, China-Myanmar oil and gas pipelines, Canadian North American pipeline, Kuwait petroleum pipeline, The Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline, Arabian American Oil pipeline, and so on.
