High praise on TISCO stainless steel for nuclear fusion by CAS experts

The acceptance of the contract of ITER program CC (correction coil) procurement package of 316LN hot rolled steel plate was carried out recently, TISCO hot rolled steel products were highly evaluated by CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences) experts.
ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) is an international magascience program cooperated by seven parties like China, Japan, South Korea, India, the United States, Russia and the European Union, it has hundreds of procurement packages in the world, which are final assembled in France ITER after manufactured by the parties separately.
CC procurement package is one of the important procurement packages of ITER program, which is completely made in China. As one part of ITER superconducting magnet system, CC has a total of 18 large superconducting coils (six coils at top, bottom and side as each) with very high performance requirements on stainless steel materials.
TISCO started developing 316LN hot rolled steel plate for ITER project CC procurement package in 2010 and became the only ITER international certified supplier of 316LN hot rolled steel plate for CC procurement package in 2013. During that time, members from Chinese Academy of Sciences Hefei Branch, ITER Center of Ministry of Science and Technology, ITER international organization and Center of European Nuclear Research (CERN) followed up the project and communicated in TISCO every two or three months. At 2016 SOFT conference, the top meeting in global fusion field, CERN scientists jointly issued a research paper about TISCO 316LN material.
Mass production of 316LN steel plate was started in April 2017 and completed in October, then more than ten tests like material temperature tensile, yield, elongation, elastic modulus, grain size, the delta ferrite, magnetic permeability and etc were carried out in December, all indexes were meet the requirements, which had created the best record since ITER products put into production. Chinese Academy of Sciences Hefei Branch entrusted a third party for re-inspection at room temperature and performance test at minus 269 ℃ cryogenic condition in January 2018, the testing results of all items are much higher than purchase specification requirements, and the performance is even higher than the products in international certification.
ITER CC 316LN steel plate has the most critical requirements on production process, test items, user supervision and etc in TISCO by far, while TISCO has built the spire of the pyramid for product structure and made the pearl on the crown for high-end products by its strong strength.
