China and Japan steel industry environmental technology gathering held in TISCO

The 11th China-Japan Steel Industry Environment Protection & Energy Conservation Technologies Expert Gathering was held in the Conference Center of Garden International Hotel on 29 of October. Delegates from steel sectors of China and Japan exchanged ideas regarding advanced technologies and management philosophies, discussed the green development, and schemed a sustainable future for the steel industry.

The meeting was jointly organized by China Iron and Steel Industry Association (CISIA) and Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF). The deputy chairman of CISIA and chairman of Environment and Energy Committee of JISF delivered opening addresses.

Representatives from Chinese steel players including China Baowu Steel Group, Shougang Group, HBIS Group, Shandong Iron and Steel Group, Ansteel Group, and TISCO, as well as representatives from Japan including Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, JFE, and Nippon Steel made presentations on advanced technologies, policies, standards, and management methods in environment and energy fields in steel industry. Heated discussions on the contents of presentations were raised among meeting attendants.

Mr. Shi Lairun, the director of the board of STSS in charge of production equipment, expressed his warm welcome on behalf of TISCO to all the guests. He noted that, for a long time, TISCO has dedicated to the green development and promoted production and life style of conservation, environment, civilization and low carbon. The company constitutes the green development mode of “1125” and manages to make greater contribution to a green society by vigorously investing in green technology and green business, proactively tackling the bottleneck problems in process technology and energy conservation & emission cutting, and forming a number of independent technologies in green low carbon process. Since 2018, TISCO has given priority to environment protection. It follows the principle of “better than standard, greener than city, and integrated into the city”. It increases investment in environment control, strengthens efforts in R&D and application of green technology. It carries out upgrade to realize extreme low emission. Shi said, as the host of the meeting, TISCO sincerely welcome the leaders, experts, industry fellows and friends. He hoped the participants frankly exchange their ideas around the environmental protection and energy conservation in iron and steel industry, learn from each other, built up the cornerstone of China-Japan exchanges, tied up the ties of China-Japan cooperation, and jointly create a green future for steel industry for both countries.
