The world's largest atmospheric tower, made in China, was shipped from Zhangjiagang port. It is sailing along the maritime Silk Road heading to Nigeria, a country along the "the belt and road initiative" route on the eastern coast of the Atlantic Ocean. It will soon be installed in Nigeria's Dangote Refinery, which has the largest single-line processing capacity in the world. All stainless steel materials used in the key parts of this atmospheric tower are provided by TISCO, demonstrating TISCO's wisdom and strength in assisting the construction of "the belt and road initiative".
An atmospheric tower is deemed as the "heart" of a refinery. Through atmospheric distillation, crude oil can be refined into four or five product fractions such as gasoline, kerosene, light diesel, heavy diesel and heavy oil. The atmospheric tower shipped from Zhangjiagang Port is 2,250 tons in weight, equivalent to one quarter of the weight of the Eiffel Tower; 120 meters in height, which is more than one third of the Eiffel Tower; and 12 meters in diameter. With the world-record-breaking diameter, length and weight, it is currently the largest atmospheric tower in the world.
TISCO began to contact the project since the beginning of 2018. The Marketing Center closely followed the progress of the project, visited customers from time to time to communicate issues on applied standards, material grades, technical clarification, production schedule plan, and system certification. The Stainless Hot Rolling Mill strictly followed the project process and procedures, overcame the difficulties of tight schedule strict requirements, and finally completed the production task with good quality.
Dangote Refinery, invested and built by Nigeria Dangote Group, is located near Lagos Port. It is currently the largest single-line refinery in the world, with designed crude oil processing capacity of 32.5 million tons/year. The refinery will increase Nigeria's refining capacity by two-thirds after it is put into operation. It will reverse Nigeria's long-term heavy dependence on imported fuels and support Nigeria and the Africa in their downstream refining markets.
Adhering to the spirit of Shanxi merchants, TISCO has cooperated deeply with the countries along the "the belt and road initiative" route to export high-quality steel products and help the construction of "the belt and road initiative". Up to now, TISCO has carried out business cooperation with 37 countries and regions in the "the belt and road initiative" agreement. Its products have been applied to the terminal industries such as petroleum, chemical industry, shipbuilding, mining, railway, automobile, food, and etc. It has successfully won over 60 international key projects such as Karachi K2/K3 nuclear power project in Pakistan, RAPID petroleum refining project in Malaysia, Yamal LNG project in Russia, and China-Maldives Friendship Bridge project. From January to September this year, the company has sawn a 40% sales growth rate in the Middle East, South America and Africa. The "TISCO brand" is gaining its momentum in the construction of "the belt and road initiative".
