The Quality Innovation Award 2019 Annual Conference was held recently in Tel Aviv, Israel. TISCO was honored to have its program of “the development of process technologies and products of wide ultra-thin stainless steel precision strip” be granted the second prize. It is the first time for a Chinese metallurgical player to participate in the QIA and be awarded.

The QIA was started in 2007, since when 19 countries including China, Finland, Sweden, Israel, and Russia participate from year to year. It is deemed as one of the most authoritative and influential international quality events. The TISCO’s program was recommended by China Quality Association to the QIA after it was rewarded V class achievement, the top honor of 4th National Quality Innovation Competition in China. Another 7 programs were also recommended by China Quality Association to the QIA.

Besides required application materials, the innovation team also prepared a film in English version, presenting TISCO’s development mode which integrates production, study, research and application. Affected by the new coronavirus pneumonia, the innovation team was unable to attend the meeting in Israel; therefore, the team transmitted all the materials to the organizing Committee. Despite the absence of the team, its program had applauded by the judges with its novelty, innovativeness, usability and environmental protection features.

It was an unforgettable experience for the innovation team. They worked together bravely to overcome many difficulties and finally achieved the hard-won results. At the background of severe epidemic of new coronavirus pneumonia, the innovation team has faith to fight against the contagion. Meanwhile, they will do their job as usual and make more contribution in terms of quality improvement and technological innovation.
