3 TISCO experts get technical honors of province-level

Shanxi Provincial Department of Human Resource and Social Security recently announced the 7th batch of academic and technical leaders, among which the senior engineers Mr. Gu Yu, Mr. Liu Naxin and Mr. Kang Xitang from TISCO Technology Center, Carbon Material Company and Stainless Steel Pipe Company respectively are listed, making the total number of TISCO laureates of the honor of “Shanxi Provincial Academic and technical Leaders” increase to 19.

Mr. Gu Yu wins his honor by technology breakthrough in production process of high-speed Fe-Cr-Al wire rod, his achievements in casting and hot rolling technology of nickel-based alloy, which makes TISCO the first producer in the world that mastered the technology of continuous casting and hot rolling of nickel-based alloy plate, as well as many other research programs that produced a total economic benefit of hundreds of millions Yuan.

Carbon fiber is among the catalogue of national strategic emerging industry and is a significant part of TISCO’s diversified strategy. Mr. Liu Naxin has led his team and made great achievement in field of engineering and manufacturing technologies of carbon fiber, which substantially meets the demands of key national aerospace projects.

Mr. Kang Xitang, who took charge of the research and development of heat resistant stainless steel tubes, duplex tubes and Ti alloy tubes for ultra-supercritical power station boilers, was awarded for advanced production technologies and superior product quality. The stainless steel section for nuclear power use developed by Kang was granted the second prize by China Metallurgical Industry Science and Technology Awards and a silver prize by International Exhibition of Inventions; and it was rated as “one of the ten major events in the stainless steel industry” in that year.

The selection of academic and technical leaders in Shanxi Province is an important composition of the cultivation and introduction project of high-end innovative talents. It is also an effective measure to improve the structure of professional and technical teams and strengthen the construction of high-level talents in Shanxi province.
