TISCO saw a success in its hot rolling mill the production of a composite coil produced from a stainless slab and a carbon steel slab, filling another gap in its product catalogue, and completing a substantial step to mess production.

The composite material inherits the superiorities of both the stainless steel and carbon steel, and at the same time outstrips the pure stainless steel or pure carbon steel in many aspects. It has high strength and good workability as typical carbon steel dose, and has excellent corrosion resistance, wear resistance and good appearance as typical stainless steel does. In addition, such composition extends the lifetime which usually is short for carbon steel, and saves the Cr and Ni which are indispensable for stainless steel. All those features made the asymmetric composite HRC a new material that is cost-effective, efficient, low-carbon and with promising market prospect.
