TISCO, confronting competition with self-strengthening, guiding development with innovation, keeps enhancing its market domination and competitiveness in stainless steel industry to consolidate its leading position of stainless steel across the world.     

As for stainless steel, ultrapure ferritic dull-finish sheet has been successfully used in large-scale buildings in Qiang Dao city and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region; hot rolled ferritic stainless steel has for the first time been used for heat exchangers; also for the first time, duplex stainless steel was used in chemical carriers overseas. Moreover, the company, in respond to the Premier’s call, has developed pen-tip steel successfully to break market monopoly of foreign enterprises, which elevates dramatically TISCO’s brand image and inspires TISCO people’s confidence of serving their country with new products. Some stainless steel series materials were firstly provided for crucial units of domestic third-generation nuclear power projects; stainless steel plate won the bid of Pakistani nuclear project; nickel-based boiler tube is applied to China’s first 700℃ ultra-supercritical test platform, with actual product quality reaching the level of imports.

For the Carbon Steel, HiB hot rolled oriented silicon steel coil/plate was successfully developed, with all performance indexes of advanced level in China; 3 grades of silicon steel products for electric cars have been developed and supplied for main electric car manufacturers; electromagnetic pure iron was applied to key parts of Tiangong-2, Shenzhou-11 Spacecraft and new-generation carrier rocket of “Pangwu”; the axle steel for 350km/h high speed train passed the technical review organized by CREC (China Railway Engineering Corporation) and was qualified for supply in batch, with quality reaching the level of imports.   

 

Sales volumes on some products see a significant year-on-year growth and market share is further improved, contributing more to the company’s profit. The products includes cold-rolled stainless steel sheet for vehicle exhaust system, duplex stainless steel, steel for tank and container, high-carbon martensitic steel, super-pure ferritic steel, 316L and high grades non-oriented silicon steel, oriented steel, EPS products, pure iron, weather-proof steel and etc.

 

TISCO is improving its product standards management system oriented by customer demands， implementing “Product Engineer System” and SPC (Statistic Process Control) to promote “ Quality Product Project”. By all these measures, the company overcame technical difficulties such as corner crack of carbon steel strand and transverse crack of 409, which makes the actual product of wheel steel quality comparable with competitor’s products and rejection rates of stainless steel and carbon steel lower by 0.30 and 0.23 percent point accordingly than last year, with quality objection reduced and reputation improved.

 

TISCO took the lead in drafting three new editions of national standard, which has been put into official implementation. The new national standards cover nearly 70% domestic stainless steel output and promote the comprehensive technological upgrading in China’s stainless steel industry. The industry standard of Free-Cutting Stainless Steel Wire for Ball Pen Tips, drafted leadingly by TISCO, passed the review organized by the National Steel Standards Committee. The project of High-strength and High-corrosion-resistance Stainless Steel and Its Applications, submitted by TISCO, was granted as national key R&D project of the13th Five Plans.
