Two scientific achievements of Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Co. Ltd. (STSS) included into the National S&T Programs

The 2013 project list of the National S&T programs was recently made public on the website of Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). The manufacturing process development and application of the stainless steel plates for the reactor internals and the 301L stainless steel sheets for high speed train carriage were included in the 2013 National Torch Plan and National New Products Program, respectively.

According to the requirements of the Temporary Administrative Regulations on National Science and Technology Plan Project and the Temporary Administrative Regulations on National S&T Programs, the MOST made public the 2013 project list of the National Spark Program, the National Torch Plan, the National New Products Program and the National Soft Science Research Plan. Many listed companies like STSS, subsidiaries of the listed companies and controlling shareholders were included in the list. In order to meet the requirements on the localization of the stainless steel sheets for the domestic high speed train carriages, TISCO started to develop the 301L stainless steel sheets for the high speed train carriages from 2003. After years of development, TISCO solved many technological problems and realized the industrial production. The products are widely used in subway, light-rail train and high speed train. The stainless steel plates for reactor internals are core components of the nuclear reactors, TISCO started to develop it from 2007 and solved the hard technological problems such as temperature, corrosion, pressure and load-bearing. The manufacturing process of TISCO was stable and reliable.
