Thinnest Hot Rolled Hydropower Steel Sheet Successfully Produced in TISCO
The thinnest hot rolled steel sheet for hydropower use was produced in TISCO days ago, which is the first time ever in China to produce such sheet with hot rolling process. Through optimization of process technology, the traditionally necessary cold rolling process was left out. Such kind of optimization closes the history of cold plate dominated hydropower industry market. In terms of environment, the substitution of cold rolling process with optimized hot rolling process uses less energy and generates less emission. It will drive the green development of hydropower steel in China.
The hot rolled sheet produced by TISCO for hydropower use is of highest grade in China. This kind of gorgeous product is mainly used in big hydropower generator like turbine. In the past, it can only be produced by cold rolling process due to the strict thickness tolerance and rigid requirement in geometry. By carrying out stringent control and elaborate optimization, TISCO successfully makes the final product be with the same level of thickness tolerance and geometry as that of traditional process. Besides, the new process uses less energy and emits less as it doesn’t involve pickling and another rolling. The product is currently applied in a big hydropower project in China. The user comments: “Thank you for supplying the product. A good cooperation has been kicked off. We wish that our cooperation will reap fruitfulness”.
Today, generators which are energy conservative, environmental friendly and efficient are the favored direction for the development of the industry. Turbine, as a significant part for hydropower equipment, will also be developed to be clean, powerful and performance-efficient. In this successful trail production of super thin hot rolled sheet for hydropower use, TISCO enhances the technical capability of the company, gains the valuable experience for the production of this kind of product, and prepares itself for further development in the hydropower industry.
