Carry out “Five-development” Ideas and Make Ecological Progress---on the World Environment Day 2016

The World Environment Day is imminent. China has set theme for this June 5^th as “Improve environment quality and push forward green development”, with an aim of extending green ideas to all circles of the society. The concept of harmonious co-existence of human and nature calls for tiny but daily effort by everyone to fulfill commitments of protecting environment, maintaining ecological balance and building our common and nice home.

Since the 18^th CPC National Congress, the central government has put more strategic significance on the building of eco-civilization and protection of environment. It initiated five development concepts which are “innovative, coordinative, green, open and sharing”, as well as a series of important deployments to execute them. President Xi stressed more than once that “Green mountains are as valuable as golden ones” and “Ecological wellness is both resource and productivity”. We should all understand that to protect eco-environment is exactly to protect the potential and drive of economy growth, and that only with clean water and green mountains, can we create values in a sustainable way.

The duty of protecting environment has fallen on the shoulders of industrial enterprises, especially on that of the steel producers. In recent years, TISCO has focused on energy conservation, emission cutting, and circular economy, as pre-conditions and foundation for development. The company has actively conducted green manufacturing, made green products, developed green industry, led green consumption, and set a model for the society.

China is now in a critical stage toward an over-all moderately prospering society. The supply-side reform carried out by the country creates a strategic opportunity to verify environmental issues and improve ecological quality. We should learn with earnest attitude the new concepts, new ideas, new strategies and new requirements to eco-civilization and environment protection initiated by the President Xi. We should seize the opportunity, bear the responsibility, implement the five development ideas, and lift our green development level, to the purposes of speeding up the company’s transformational upgrade, as well as making contributions to the healthy and sustainable growth of the industry, and to the construction of eco-civilization.

We will not spare our investment in environment, even when the company encounters difficulties as we are. On the contrary, we will figure out ways to raise capital, to construct more complete circular economy industry chains to cover solid, liquid and gas waste, to upgrade our environmental facilities, to build a higher level green steel plant that is energy-effective and environment-friendly, and explore a new path of energy-conservation and emission-cutting for the steel industry.

We will seize opportunities raised in the supply-side reform, and accelerate our pace in lifting technological innovation capability. We will be inspired by the spirit of craftsmanship, give full try on developing more product variety, improve product quality, build brand image, boost our supply level and supply ability, offer more materials of green and of high performance to the consumers, and aid the over-all upgrade of China’s manufacturing industry.

We will make our green course stronger to aid the development of the company. We will input more environmental technologies with independent knowledge property rights to the society, realize the transferring of our small in-house circular to the big civil circular which benefit more people, as well as breed new profit-gaining points and our competiveness.

The building of eco-civilization under the new economy norms is encountering many new difficulties and challenges. however, we believe, as long as we keep solidly in mind the environmental consciousness, keep persistently in executing the concept of “five developments”, would we forge TISCO to an urbanized steel plant that is creative, dutiful, respectable, and environmental, would we explore a better future for China’s steel industry.
