TISCO Team Shows Outperformance in The National Steel Industry Vocational Skills

The remarkable 8^th “Angang Cup” Steel Industry Vocational Skills Competition lasting for 5 days closed on September. TISCO won the second place on the team event. Two employees of TISCO got the third on two different professional events respectively. It is the first time for TISCO to make a breakthrough in the competition on the main production professions away from home. TISCO became the only one steel player that kept the top three ranking on the team event for 6 consecutive vocational skills competitions.

 

Called as “ Olympic Games in steel industry ”, Steel Industry Vocational Skills Competition provides an important platform for steel participants to compete skill and cultivate high-skilled workers. The competition is compose of national competitive professional events (converter smelting, steel rolling, inspection on the instrument and equipment ) and industrial professional events (the internal combustion engine locomotive driver). 209 competitors from 61 teams took part in this game.

 

The theoretical exams and practical operation tests covering aspects of steel industry development, energy saving & emission reduction and application of new technology on 4 different professions were carried out. The theoretical exams were done on the computers without usage of paper. In the practical operation tests, the competitor’s ability of practical operation and solving problems were measured practically combined with the operation simulation on computers.

 

In this competition, TISCO competitors carried forward the spirit of craftsmanship, showed their outstanding skills, tried all their efforts steadily and made a good result in spite of unfamiliar circumstance and equipment. Wang Wei, from Steel Making Plant 2 got the third place on the converter smelting event, Shi Zhijie from Stainless Wire Plant got the third place on the steel rolling (wire) event, Qiao Xianbing from Automation Company got the ninth place on the instrument inspection (the first place on the theoretical exam), and Wei Jian from Logistics Center got the eleventh place on the internal combustion engine locomotive driver event.

 

According to the competition rule, all the competitors from TISCO are granted the title of “National Steel Technical Expert”. Besides, Wang Wei and Shi Zhijie will be entitled as “National Technical Expert”, and Shi Zhijie will also be entitled as “National Skilled Youth”.
