TISCO Drafts the “Three National Standards on Stainless Steel”

 

Three national standards including “Hot Rolled Stainless Steel Plate and Strip”, “Heat-resistant Steel Plate and Strip” and “Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Plate and Strip” drafted by TISCO and other co-authors have been put into official implementation since June 1, 2016. China Metallurgical Information and Standardization Institute will organize a team led by TISCO to explain and publicize the standards to the professionals in steel industry to further promote overall implementation of the new standards.

 

Called as “the 3 national standards on stainless steel” by steel insiders, “Hot Rolled Stainless Steel Plate and Strip”, “Heat-resistant Steel Plate and Strip” and “Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Plate and Strip” cover nearly 70% of China’s total stainless steel output and attract popular attention in steel industry. As a leading drafter of 2015 version “3 national standards on stainless steel”, TISCO has incomparable influence in stainless steel with its solid expertise in material production and application, first class equipment, exquisite workmanship and unique products.

 

The new version of “the 3 national standards on stainless steel” highlights the following features: firstly, the content of 200 series stainless steel as in the old version is deleted to fit the international developing trend and to ensure healthy development of China’s stainless steel industry; secondly, 23 new stainless steel grades are added into the new version since all these new grades have great prospects and represent a direction of stainless steel grade development and application; thirdly, some steel grades are adjusted to match today’s large-scale equipment.

 

Since 2012, TISCO has led or participated the preparation of 18 national and professional standards, providing a reliable basis for further standardization of the stainless steel production and application. Besides, the mandatory national standard, “Stainless Steel Plate and Strip Used to Pressure Equipment” leadingly drafted by TISCO has passed the audit and is to be publicized. The professional standard “Free-cutting Stainless Steel Wire Used to Produce Pen Nib ”, the national standard “Austenitic Stainless Steel Plate and Strip Used to Nuclear Power Plant” and the national standard “Pure Iron Raw Material” formulated by TISCO now in public consultancy stage. All  these national/professional standards on iron and steel materials are expected to pave a road for China’s structural reform and the development of China’s emerging industry and national key projects.
