TISCO speeds up the fine and intelligent processing of the coal preparation in Coking Plant


 
A few days ago, TISCO coal preparation lab, the main body of Shanxi Province Integrated Lab for Coal Mixing, was put into operation. It marks a breakthrough progress of the province-level key project of coal-based science and technology ----the development and demonstration of the fine and intelligent coal preparation system.
 
Shanxi Province is well-known for its rich coal reserves, including both high grade coal and poor quality coal with high-S and high-ash. It has become increasingly urgent to intensify the development of coal preparation technology to improve the management of coal quality control and to promote effective utilization of low grade coal with high-S and high-ash in order to provide safer, cheaper and more environment-friendly coal-based fuel to the coking plant.
 
In 2014, joined by Institute of Coal Chemistry Chinese Academy of Sciences, Taiyuan University of Technology and Shanxi Fenwei Energy Development Consulting Co., LTD, TISCO won the bidding of the project of “the development and demonstration of the fine and intelligent coal preparation system” which was organized and implemented by Shanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology. As the core of this project, the integrated lab of coal preparation in coking plants in Shanxi Province was co-built up by TISCO, Institute of Coal Chemistry Chinese Academy of Sciences, Taiyuan University of Technology and Shanxi Fenwei Energy Development Consulting Co., LTD. The main body of this lab, TISCO Coal Preparation Lab, as advanced research center in Shanxi Province, will serve as an important technical supporter for the project. .
 
The newly-built coal preparation lab will carry out the research on a 300 kg experimental coking furnace. Fine coal quality analysis, coal rock analysis, 40 kg coke making in experimental furnace, 300 kg coke making in experimental furnace, fine coke quality analysis, top charging and ramming charging into the coking furnace simulation will be done. Data collected from all these operation are greatly correlated to that of industrialized big coking furnaces and can be taken to evaluate the coal resources, to set up and adjust coal preparation recipes, to form complete flow chart research systems used to lab research, small coking furnace test, industrial trial test and blast furnace application. Therefore it will have obvious economic and social benefits and make a significant sense to optimize the coal mix, to save the coal resources and to lower the cost of coal preparation.
