TISCO Succeeds in Developing New-type Stainless Steel for Heat Exchanger
Recently, 112 heat exchangers have departed from Shanghai Tonghua SS Pressure Vessel Engineering Co., Ltd to be delivered to Shanghai International Finance Centre for living hot water supply system, which are the China first SS heat exchangers. All components fabrication for the heat exchangers fully adopts high-grade new-type SS developed successfully by TISCO. It is the first batch application for the products being used in living hot water supply system.
SS heat exchanger has been widely used in the fields such as environment protection, food, medicine, chemistry, heating, living water and air conditioners return water, etc., thanks to its good resistances against oxidization, corrosion and scaling, favorable heat transmission effect, long service lifetime and being safe and clean as well.
Shanghai IFC is one of the top 10 key projects in Lujiazui financial center in the 12th Five-Year Plan period, and the second securities and exchange center where securities trading, financial futures trading and securities settlement and registration can be performed. The architectural design scheme of the IFC was led by internationally known Murphy/Jahn, worked out together with a dozen of consultant teams, home and abroad, aiming to build a modern comprehensive financial office buildings group featured with ‘scientific technology, smart, environment protection, energy-saving and comfort’, the overall design concept .
As a key part of living hot water supply system for Shanghai IFC, SS heat exchanger has extremely strict requirements on material in terms of performance and quality. To meet the new design concept of Shanghai IFC, TISCO and Shanghai Tonghua SS Pressure Vessel Engineering Co., Ltd reached an agreement of cooperation intention to research, develop and produce new material in September. After 2 months of integrated effort on the subject, the R&D team of TISCO have made a breakthrough in critical processes such as material manufacturing, forming and welding, etc. and succeeded in developing the first new type SS material for heat exchanger in China, realizing upgrading and updating of conventional nickel SS. Compared with conventional material, the new type SS for heat exchanger has higher strength, superior resistance against vibration, pressure and shock, higher thermal conductivity and longer service lifetime. Moreover, it doesn’t contain precious metal of nickel, making it more cost effective and being a typical green product. Having been used in some processing enterprises, new SS material has earned praise from customers owing to its excellent performance and reliable quality, being TISCO another successful example to ‘optimize and upgrade products type and structure through innovation and boost China high end manufacturing’.
