TISCO Participating Project Wins National Science and Technology Progress Award

A Project, “Development and Application of Key Technology & Equipments for Producing High-grade Ferro-nickel with Laterite Nickel Ore”, participated and completed by TISCO, won second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award at theNational Awarding Meeting for Science and Technology, which was held recently.

 

Relying on Tagaung Taung nickel minerals project in Myanmar, after more than 6 years of joint efforts, the project R&D team, consisting of TISCO, CNMC(China Nonferrous Metal Corp), China ENFI Engineering Company and etc., has achieved a series of innovations and breakthroughs in terms of production process and technical equipment, developed key technologies and whole set large scale equipments for producing high-grade ferro-nickel with laterite nickel ore, having proprietary intellectual property right, which has brought domestic ferro-nickle smelting technology and facility up to the world advanced level.

 

National S&T Progress Award is one of 5 awards established by the State Council, i.e. National Science and Technology Top Award, National Natural Science Award, National Technology Invention Award, National S&T Progress Award and National Science Cooperation Award. It is intended to honor and encourage the Chinese citizens or organizations which have made a creative contribution to technological research, development and innovation, to spreading applications of advanced S&T result, to promoting industrialization of high and new technology, and in the process of implementing major S&T projects or plans. 171 projects got this award nationwide in 2016.

 

TISCO has obtained 12 prizes of National S&T Award since 2002, including 1 first prize and 11 second prizes.
