TISCO has been granted the title of “five star enterprise to fulfill its social responsibility” for continuously three years

 

“The star list of the third event of Sustainability Transition Assessment and Rating for Chinese Industrial Corporations 2016” was released recently at the conference of “The social responsibility at the age of the internet--- Chinese enterprises conference on sustainable development 2017” held at the International Convention Center in Beijing. As the only one iron and steel enterprise of 52 five star winners, TISCO has been granted the title of “five star enterprise to fulfill its social responsibility” for continuously three years. The standing committee of the People’s Political Consultative Conference, vice director of the Committee for Economic Affairs and the chairman of China Federation of Industrial Economics Mr. Li Yi took part in this conference and made a keynote report. The deputy Party Secretary of TISCO Mr. Wang Xinping received the certificate of award on behalf of TISCO.

 

In 2016, the first year of the 13^th Five-Year Plan period, faced with severe abnormality of steel industry, TISCO actively led the development of steel industry, practiced the new concept of development, took hold of the great chance of national supply side structural reformation, overcame all difficulties with solid resolution, moved forward with all the efforts and achieved incredible operation performance. In the past year, TISCO consistently improved the competitiveness of steel grade and product quality, took scientific and technological innovation as a support to develop vigorously high-end featured product, which should be exclusive, advanced and able to substitute for imported goods, went all out to increase product variety, to improve quality and to create brand and picked up the pearls of “crown” of iron and steel industry; TISCO consistently accelerated the process of transformation and upgrading, further sped up extension towards both ends of industrial chain, enhanced control ability on upstream resource and value-adding ability over downstream products, made new progress on the development of new material and automation and consolidated further the leading position in global stainless steel industry; TISCO resolutely sped up the process of building upgraded version of green development, took the green development as a precondition for the company survival and, a foundation for the development, a new competitiveness and a profit growth point, promoted industrialization output of advanced technologies on energy-saving, emission-reducing and recycling economy, made green development of the company do good to the whole society, achieved great successes in both social and economic benefits, responded to social concerns on the environmental protection and showed a good image of a responsible enterprise in all respects.

 

“The star list of the third event of Sustainability Transition Assessment and Rating for Chinese Industrial Corporations 2016” was worked out after the adjustment and supplement on the related assessment criteria of the social responsibilities of the last two events, voluntary application from the companies, the recommendation by related units, company qualification examination, preliminary assessment on the information system, reexamination, reporting to the related national committees, public notification, authorization etc. With the mission of sustainable development and a leading level of both industrial management and fulfillment of social responsibilities, the listed companies are all energy-saving, environmental friendly and social harmonious enterprises.

 

Sponsored by China Federation of Industrial Economics, this conference took the “social responsibility of the enterprises at the age of the internet” as the major subject. In order to revitalize the real economy and sustainable development of Chinese enterprises, special reports were prepared, strategic cooperation projects were started, multiparty discussions were carried out and rich experiences were shared. More than 200 people from government sectors, related international organizations, national industry associations (unions), local Federation of Industrial Economics, industrial enterprises and news media took part in this conference.
