TISCO Completed the Task of Heat Supply

“Please switch off the exhausted steam valves in main power generator and waste heat work zones, switch off BF slag flushing water valves, and push the stop button of heat network circulation pump,” that was an instruction came from the energy management and control center of Energy and Power Plant of TISCO at the last day of March. The completion of the instruction marks TISCO’s winter heat-supply task comes to a successful conclusion.

The fact is an important embodiment of fulfilling social responsibility that TISCO supplies heat to the residents in its neighborhood by utilizing industrially-generated waste heat/energy. Particularly in recent years, in order to enhance environmental governance, the Municipal committee and government of Taiyuan city has shut down various heating boilers located everywhere in the city area. Therefore, TISCO had to take more share of task to supply heat. In doing so, the company has been managing to improve its ability in recovery and utilization of waste heat/energy and exhausted steam. After a success in waste heat recovery from BF slag flushing water, which added an extra heat supply capability of 5000,000 square meter, a flue gas waster heat recovery unit for 2×300MW power generator units in Energy and Power Plant was put into operation in last July, providing additional heating capacity of 500,000 square meter.

 

“It’s our job to warm the residents in the north area of Taiyuan city through winter time. Heat supply is our top priority of each year,” said the staff from energy management and control center of Energy and Power Plant, “by now, it has been completed smoothly, and we finally can be relieved.” During the heating season of five months, TISCO supplied heat source to more than 300,000 households, with a total heating area of 21,500,000 square meter. The Company made plans and arrangements in advance for better heat supply. Meanwhile, all units related to heating supply believe that proper maintenance would minimize troubles in operation. So, just after the previous heating season is over, they always start maintenance and replacement work on heating unit, pipes and attached facilities, to guarantee the heating system in a good condition. In the process of heat supply, the company adjusted heating parameters promptly according to temperature variation and heating indicator curve to ensure stable operation of heat supply network. Moreover, in response to the problems and complaints from residents, the Company worked together with heat user to search and solve troubles to ensure every home is warm in winter.
