TISCO’s Products Contribute to the Launch of TianZhou

Tiaozhou-1, China’s first cargo spacecraft, was launched successfully at 7:41 PM on April 20 from Wenchang Space Launch Center in south China’s Hainan province. The courier, robust and multifunctional, will dock with orbiting Tiangong-2 space lab and delivery an “energy package” from the earth.

TISCO’s efforts contribute to the launch of Tianzhou. Its three varieties of products, i.e. stainless steel, high-strength alloy structural steel and electromagnetic pure iron have been used for the crucial components of Long March-7 Y-2 carrier rocket, which undertook the launch mission for Tianzhou-1 cargo spacecraft. This was the second time for “made in TISCO” to contribute to Long March-7 carrier rocket blast-off following the first blast-off of Long March-7 Y-1.

TISCO, as an important manufacturing base of aerospace-dedicated steel, has been developing new materials and competitive materials for aerospace over years. Its key materials such as stainless steel, high-strength alloy structural steel and electromagnetic pure iron have been used for the crucial components of Long March series rocket, Shenzhou Series spacecraft, Chang’e lunar probe and Tiangong series space lab, according to the Military and Nuclear Power Business Department of TISCO. It has made a positive contribution to China’s aerospace industry and realization of China nation’s dream of manned flight into outer space.
