TISCO in Progress: the environmental indicators of 2×300MW generator units are industry-leading
“Thanks to the ultralow emission renovation in 2015, the emission level of the 2 sets of 300MW generator units now not only satisfies all environmental indicators, but also can be stabilized in certain range, with a small fluctuation,” said Chen Jun, the chief of Thermal Power Section of Energy & Power Plant.
The 2 sets of 300MW generator units were put into operation in January, 2011. Even at that time, the 300MW generator units equipped with FGDD (fuel gas desulfurization and denitrification) electrostatic precipitators. Besides generating electricity power, the units also provide TISCO with factory steam and undertake partly centralized heating task for Taiyuan city, with industry-leading environmental indicators, which are superior to national standards.
To further follow ultralow emission requirement for coal-fired generator unit initiated by Shanxi provincial government, low-Nox burner renovation was carried out from July of 2013 to July of 2014 for the two generator units. The renovation reduced the Nox indicators at the inlet and outlet of denitration to half of the previous level.
To upgrade green development, ultralow emission renovation to the 300MW generator units was carried out and completed in November of 2015, fulfilling ahead of schedule ultralow emission renovation mission set by the Commission of Economy and Information Technology of Shanxi Province. The renovation included: the power system for electrostatic precipitators changed from regular high voltage power supply to high-frequency power supply or pulse power supply, improving dedusting efficiency; additional one stage desulfurizing tower was installed to form double-tower double circulation, enhancing desufurizing efficiency; wet dust collectors were added to lower dust content in flue gas; one layer catalyst was arranged to increase the removal rate of Nox.
The environment indicators of the 2 sets of generator units have been improved through renovations and are taking the lead in fire power industry. At present, the emission concentration of sulfur dioxide, flue gas and Nox is below 35mg/m3 (national limit is 200mg/m3), 5 mg/m3 (30mg/m3) and 50 mg/m3 (100mg/m3), respectively, all below the new national emission limit for fire power plant.
