TISCO Ranked as National Innovation Demonstration Enterprise for the 6th consecutive year

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology publicized 2017 National Innovation Demonstration Enterprise list recently. TISCO has passed the review and reassessment process and been awarded the “National Innovation Demonstration Enterprise”.

 

TISCO is the only one steel enterprise among the first 55 enterprises which have been identified as “National Innovation Demonstration Enterprises”. The Enterprises, which have strong innovative ability, outstanding innovative performance and play an important role in demonstrating and directing, are identified jointly by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Ministry of Finance. The Enterprises selection is based on six standards such as corporate core competitiveness, leading position, self-owned brand and etc. The enterprise indentifying and awarding is held once every year; review and reassessment, once every three years. As for the qualified enterprises, the title will be affirmed again; for unqualified enterprises, the title will be revoked during the review and reassessment process.

 

TISCO has been taking innovation as its first driver. It directs all staff to “welcome innovations, respond to innovations and obtain achievement through innovations”, actively foster innovation culture of “embracing innovations, tolerating failures and being against conservatism”. With the support by “national key laboratory” and “national technological center”, TISCO will further increase investment into science and technology, target to expand market, cooperate actively with domestic and overseas scientific research institutes and establish a laboratory integrating producing, learning, researching and application with the pattern of “project---talent---base”. Moreover, TISCO’s Performance Appraise system, featuring humanization, further positive stimulus and knowledge-value-directed distribution policy, would inspire all staff of TISCO to be more innovative. Meanwhile, TISCO is exploring new business mode. With the aids of SBU (Strategic Business Unit), chief engineer, product engineer and “one standard for one customer” mode, TISCO keeps optimizing product variety structure, improving product quality and extent service for the customers to increase its competitiveness in market.

 

Through process technological innovation, product innovation, management and business mode innovations, a series of breakthroughs in stainless process, technologies and varieties have been obtained and put into use. So far, more than 3300 patents have been filed by TISCO and more than 2600 granted by SIPO. TISCO’s new products of high-tech, high-difficulty and high-added-value have been widely used for high-speed train axle, cross-sea Bridge, aviation and aerospace, nuclear power and etc. More than 20 varieties of products have top market shares; more than 30 varieties filled the domestic blanks and replaced the imports; the profit from high-end products is up to 85 percent. Besides creating economic profit, TISCO has also provided strong support in key material for China’s transformation from big to strong manufacturing country.
