Wastewater Treatment in TISCO Advances to a New Level

“Over these years, wastewater treatment in TISCO has made a big progress,” said Guo Wei, a veteran. Now he is working in Water Treatment Sector of Energy &Power Plant of TISCO, a foreman in charge of wastewater treatment. “The industrial wastewater treatment process level continued to be improved in recent years, with all indicators being better. Particularly, wastewater treatment capacity and level had been improved dramatically since the renovation project aiming at improving capacity and efficiency was put into operation last year,”             he added when it came to the changes over years.

 

The renovation project mentioned by Guo Wei, aiming at extending capacity and improving efficiency was a major measure taken by TISCO to upgrade its water system, which was completed and put into use in June of 2016.

 

“The project adopted world’s most advanced process technology in industrial wastewater treatment, with a daily processing capacity up to 160,000 cubic meters. All indicators of the water quality after treatment met design standard, making TISCO’s industrial wastewater treatment capacity up to a higher level,” according to the introduction of Gao Junfei, chief of Water Business Sector, “one part of the treated industrial wastewater goes through advanced treatment to become demineralized water, which can be used for stainless steel production; the other part is used for firefighting, road cleaning and flower watering in the area of TISCO.”

 

Besides industrial wastewater treatment, TISCO also recycles urban sewage from surrounding areas. “The urban sewage is valuable resource for TISCO, and we will use it to produce high quality demineralized water,” said Gao Junfei.

 

TISCO output wastewater treatment technology while doing its own job. Jin Yang Sewage Treatment Plante, contracted by Taigang Bi Shui Yuan Company, has been fully put into operation, with a daily capacity of 210,000 tons. The Project of Improving Urban Drinking Water Quality, carried out by TISCO in Yangquan, an city in the east of Shanxi province, helped the city solve issues such as harder water quality, excessive sulphate content and etc. Project aiming to improve water quality also have been implemented in Yexi industrial and mining area in Pingding County and near areas.

 

TISCO adopted advanced process technologies from home and abroad and have completed a great number of new type wastewater treatment projects, including industrial wastewater treatment, life wastewater treatment, recycled water double-membrane process, alkaline oil wastewater biochemical treatment, waste acid recycling and reusing. All these projects have not only recycled all industrial wastewater in TISCO, but also absorbed and disposed part of urban sewage to benefit People living. The wastewater treatment level and indicators of fresh water consumption per ton steel have been always industry-leading. TISCO was one of the first 12 Water-saving Bench-marking Enterprises released by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, with its water quantity demand per ton steel listed as China’s water-saving benchmark.
