TISCO launches program of steel for railway vehicles key parts for severe condition

A start-up and review meeting for one of national key research and development plans, the program of steel for railway vehicles key parts that adapted to extreme condition, was held in TISCO on October 24. Two academics of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, namely Wang Yide and Weng Yuqing, fundamental material expert team, consultant expert team, and over 40 representatives from 15 member units, including China Academy of Railway Sciences, Iron and Steel Research Institute, University of Science and Technology in Beijing, Angang Steel Company Limited, and so on, attended the meeting. An official from Shanxi Province Science and Technology Department presented the meeting with greetings. Zhang Zhifang, a director of TISCO Group and the chairman of STSS, Gao Jianbing, a director of TISCO Group and general manager of STSS, and Li Jianming, chief engineer of TISCO Group, joined the meeting.

 

Zhang Zhifang expressed sincere gratefulness to related institutes, universities and enterprises for their long-term support to TISCO in his welcome speech. He said, it is a big honor for TISCO to do this program. He stated that, to make contribution to the state and to strengthen the company, TISCO will spare no effort to fulfill the great mission, will go to great lengths to make it happen, and will strictly comply with related requirements. He looked forward to valuable advices from experts during the program execution. He said such advices would be helpful for the completion of the program, the lift of TISCO innovation capability, and the stable development of the company.

 

In the meeting, Zhang Zhifang presented letters of appointment to 11 consultant experts; Gao Jianbing, on behalf of the project team, made a report on the general and execution plan of the program.

 

After hearing and discussing the general of sub-projects, a consensus was reached amongst experts that the execution plan of the program, which covers production, learning, research and application of the special steel, was feasible with a definite goal, practical research subjects and reasonable research methods.

 

Gao Jianbing thanked every experts and participant units for their vigorous support. He said all the advices given by the experts would be settled and carried out earnestly, so as to ensure a successful completion of the program.

 

China sees a rapid development of railway industry during the “thirteenth-five” period. High speed passenger transport and highly effective freight have raised new targets and higher requirements to railway vehicles. In this “program of steel for railway vehicles key parts for severe condition”, TISCO, as a pioneer, defines two science specifications and four knowhow to 3 steel grades for key parts, namely steel for wheel of high speed train, high corrosion resistant steel for train body, and structural steel for bogie. The program is to be completed in 4 years.
