STSS plays a leading role in water efficiency

A list of companies presenting outstanding water use efficiency in 2017 was jointly published by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Water Resources, National Development and Reform Commission, and General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the PRC. The list covers sectors of iron and steel, textile dyeing and finishing, paper making, ethylene, and monosodium glutamate. TISCO and other 10 companies were titled “leading runners” for water use efficiency.

 

The selected “leading runners” are the products, enterprises and irrigated areas that outperform their peers in water efficiency in certain comparable aspects. The water efficiency campaign was launched in 2015 by MIIT and other related departments, who defined the guidelines for water consumption, published the lists of leading companies who perform good water efficiency, and honored the best since then.

 

TISCO has stressed the comprehensive utilization of water resource for years. Guided by the development philosophy featured with innovation, harmony, green, openness and share, and backed by the innovative technology and advanced equipment, the company curbed the waste water generated in coking and steel-rolling process; it adapted high efficiency sedimentation tank and V shape filter for industrial waste water treatment; it developed dual-membrane technology for waste water generated from steel industry; its industrial waste water and civil waste water recycling project presented remarkable water efficiency by changing waste to resource. The company instituted water conservation management system, in which the responsibility, examining and approving procedure, production and operation, measurement, awards and punishment regarding the use of water are stipulated; water consumption and water quality indexes for different production processes are defined. The company applied innovative technologies for water conservation, including grading water supply, closed circulation, evaporation air cooling, reverse osmosis membrane treatment, and deep treatment of civil waste water; and set up a series of treatment systems for waste water from different sources, with different impurities, and with different treatment technologies. The closed circulation system and surface evaporation cooler technology, in particular, dramatically elevated the water efficiency. TISCO spares no effort to seek development, and at the same time it never forgets to fulfill its social responsibility. The company’s city waste water recycling project, with a designed capacity of 50,000 m3 per day, has treated 158 billion cubic meters waste water totally.
