TISCO to embrace a new era of high-quality development

On the first day of the new year, a symposia themed with lifting product quality was held in the Technology Center of TISCO. Li Xiaobo, the secretary of Party Committee and the Chairman of the Board of TISCO, called for unified minds and actions to embrace the new era under the guide of the 19th NCCPC and the Central Economic Work Conference. He stressed the importance of product varieties, product quality and brand value; encouraged people to affirm confidence and combine efforts, so as to embrace the new era and step onto a new journey of high quality development.

 

The meeting was presided over by Mr. Gao Xiangming, the deputy secretary of the Party Committee, vice chairman of the board, and general manager of TISCO. High level management, including Gao Jianbing, Xie Li, Zhang Xiaodong, Zhao Shukun, Li Jianming, and those who are responsible for technology and quality attended the meeting.

 

Li figured out that the symposia on the first day of the new year has special significance. As the report of 19th NCCPC states, China’s economy has shifted from high-speed growth stage to high-quality development stage, and the country is striving to be a quality power and manufacturing power. Focusing on high-quality development, the Central Economic Work Conference made a series strategic deployment, aiming at pushing forward the transformation from “made in China” to “created by China”, from “Chinese speed” to “Chinese Quality”, from “being well known for manufacturing quantity” to “being famed for manufacturing capability”. He called for strengthened political stance, unified minds and deepened understanding to the new requirements raised by the Party, to the state’s development direction, as well as to the company’s strategy. He vowed to constantly drive the company to a new era of high quality development.

 

2017 saw a profitable performance and fruitful achievements in product variety and quality in TISCO. However, we should keep alert to the periodical fluctuation of steel industry, Li Xiaobo stated. He said we should be confident but not wildly optimistic. On one hand, we should keep confidence on the unique competitiveness accumulated during the 80 years history of the company, especially the superiorities gained in recent 10 years development, and keep faith on our strategy, culture, team and capability. On the other hand, we should never be deluded or sluggish. Be active to market competition and be aware of risk. Do all we can to expand product variety, to improve quality, to fame TISCO brand, to strengthen our existing advantages, to speed up in developing new competitiveness, and to secure the changeover from TISCO product to TISCO brand.

 

Li Xiaobo believed that the ideology leads the action. The high-quality development of a company can never be realized without a sound enterprise culture. The effort with common target and shared passion is a necessity to lift product quality. Letting people know widely and clearly the extreme importance of product variety, product quality and brand value, is a task for managers of all levels. When everyone takes care of quality and works for quality, it will be a substantial engine for the high quality development of the company.

 

Li Xiaobo stressed that the lifting of product quality should be market-oriented and customer-oriented, as customer is always the fair judge of quality. And we must react quickly to problems. Solve the problem according to customer’s demands. Lifting quality also needs scientific method. We should have a clear understanding on the dialectic relations between quality and production, quality and cost, and quality and profit. And at last, we should keep in mind that the quality lifting is not a temporary or instant work. It takes time and needs patience. As long as our staff keeps faith in our common target and is willing to strive for it, TISCO will conquer all difficulties to embrace the new chapter of high quality development.

 

Gao Xiangming specified the requirements on work of lifting quality. He figured out that product quality is the foundation of the company’s high-quality development. People should reach a consolidated understanding that the product quality has momentous meaning to the company’s growth under new era. He suggests a practice combining problem and target orientation, with clear defined accountability of all related units. He asks for stricter assessment, as well as rewards and punishments, with quality as a key factor to scale one’s performance and one’s capability. He asks for further optimized organization flow, strengthened management, reinforced communication, and better meet to the requirements of product R&D and quality improvement. He called for concerted effort, unified passion, and combined wisdom to realize breakthrough in product quality.

 

Gao Jianbing, a standing member of TISCO Party Committee and the general manager of STSS, made a report on product quality in 2017, and notified the meeting attendees of quality target and measures for 2018. Managers and principals of related departments and plants made comments and suggestions.
